Everything you need to know about the K-12 account approval process

Updated over a week ago

Why does Goosechase require K-12 account approval?

Our K-12 program is designed for verified educators, schools, and districts. The approval process helps us make sure that our K-12 resources and pricing are directed to those who are eligible.

If you don’t qualify for K-12 access, we offer a variety of custom pricing options, including discounts for Higher Education and Non-Profits. Please reach out to our team to learn more about these options and find the best fit for your needs.

How do I apply for a K-12 account?

Simply sign up for a Goosechase account here on our EDU Sign up page.

You’ll be asked to provide some basic information about your role, school, and district for verification:

  • First Name

  • Last name

  • Position/Role

  • School District Name

  • School Name

  • School Level

How long does approval take?

Most approvals are reviewed within 1 business day, but it may take a little longer during busy periods. We’ll email you as soon as your account has been reviewed.

What happens while I’m waiting for approval?

Your account will stay on the EDU Basic plan while your application is under review. In the meantime, you can begin planning your Experiences and creating Missions. Please note that subscription upgrades will not be available until your account is approved. During this time, you’ll see a “Verification Required” message instead.

Once your K-12 account is approved, you’ll have full access to Goosechase’s K-12 pricing.

I work with K-12 students, but I am not affiliated with a K-12 school. Will I get approved?

Approval for our K-12 program is based on verified affiliation with a recognized K-12 school or district. If you work with K-12 students outside of a formal school setting (e.g., tutoring, after-school programs, private organizations, higher education), your account may not qualify for K-12 approval.

You’re still welcome to use Goosechase with a standard account, and we’d be happy to help you find the best plan to fit your needs. We have many custom pricing options, including discounts for Higher Education and Non-Profits!

What if my account is approved?

You’ll receive an email confirming your approval and granting you access to our K-12 pricing, designed to help you create engaging Experiences for your students.

What if my account is denied?

If we’re unable to verify your K-12 affiliation, you’ll receive an email letting you know your request wasn’t approved. Your account will automatically be placed on a free Recreational plan, so you can still create and run Experiences.

If you believe this decision was made in error, simply reply to the verification email; our team will be happy to review your details and help determine if you qualify.

If I create Experiences while waiting for approval and my account is denied, will I still have access to them?

Yes! Any Experiences you create while waiting for approval will remain on your account, even if your K-12 request is denied. Your account will be moved to a free Recreational plan, and your Experiences will still be accessible; you just won’t have access to K-12 pricing or features.

Can I reapply if my account was denied?

Yes! If your circumstances change or if additional information becomes available, you can reply to the denial email to provide more details, and we’ll review your request again.

Does this approval process affect my students?

No. The approval process is only for the account creator (you). Once approved, you can invite your students to join Experiences without them needing individual approval.

Who can I contact with questions about my approval?

If you have questions or need help with your application, simply reply to your approval email or contact us at hi@goosechase.com.
