An effective and fun way to mix up how the scoring works in your Experience could be to make the point values a surprise. This adds a bit of chance to the gameplay. Now, participants don’t know the point value of the Missions they complete until after the Experience ends and they find out whether they struck gold! Here is how you could run an Experience like this 👇
Set some (or all) Missions to 0 points, so that participants have no idea how many points they'll earn by completing them. This will also hide everyone's progress on the leaderboard, so they can't see where they stand in relation to other teams.
When the Experience ends, go and change the point values on the respective Missions to their real value, as this will update the scores of all teams who completed those Missions.
To up the ante, keep some Missions at 0 points, while others might be a higher point value. It helps to keep things mysterious and competitive.
Helpful Honk 🪿: Make sure the structure is communicated with participants ahead of time so that they aren't upset by what's going on. And plan out the point structure in advance so that you aren't left scrambling at the last minute trying to figure out how many points you want to assign to each Mission.
