It's never a bad idea to have the first Mission in your Experience be a welcome Mission that explains the rules and the Experience. Here are some ways you can approach it π
Make it Mandatory β : Using the unlockable Missions feature, you can make it so that the main Missions of the Experience only unlock once participants have completed/read the welcome Mission.
Add a link/image π: We have some handy resources on how to participate in a Goosechase that you could link or add as an image to the Mission to teach participants how to play. You can also use it to link your site/event page/prize page, or anything with relevant information for participants.
Release it early β°: Sometimes participants join an Experience before it begins. In these cases, they are met with a waiting screen. Why not spice it up and give them something to read? Consider setting the Experience to live and only releasing the welcome Mission. Then, using the release settings, schedule the official Missions to release a few hours/days later! That way, participants can review the rules before the Experience officially begins.
Put it first 1οΈβ£: Using the custom ordering feature, you can put the welcome Mission right at the top of the Mission list for participants, so it's the first thing they see!
Add your contact π§: If you anticipate participants needing to contact you for support, prizes, or questions, putting your contact information in this Mission is a great idea (donβt worry, we are always here to help with technical issues).
Helpful Honk πͺΏ: Keeping the welcome Mission brief can help prevent overwhelming participants with information. Try and cover the most important rules, and if there are any smaller details, consider linking to an external page that participants can access if they are curious.
