How many Missions should I include in my Goosechase Experience?

Determining how many Missions add for your participants to complete

While there is no perfect science to creating Missions as each Experience is unique, below is our guidance on what we have seen work best in guidance.

2 hours or less Experiences

If you are running a short Experience for only a couple of hours, we usually recommend around 20-25 Missions be included in the Experience, depending on the difficulty of the Missions. Maybe keep a couple of backup Missions handy as drafts in case you notice participants are completing them quickly!

Multiple hours, day-long, multi-day, or week-long Experiences

From our research, the sweet spot for multi-hour, day-long, multi-day, or week-long Experiences is that 30-50 Missions tend to yield the highest Mission completion percentages. If your Missions are a bit more challenging, aim closer to 30; if they are more straightforward, target 50.

Not all Missions need to be released at once; you can stagger the Missions to release at different times throughout your Experience using the Mission availability settings and unlockable Missions. This is great if you don't want to overwhelm participants with too many Missions at once.

Multi-week, month-long, or multi-month Experiences

For much longer Experiences, we recommend starting with the ideal batch of 30-50 Missions depending on difficulty and then dropping new Missions in batches weekly as you keep an eye on participation.

This helps hook participants at the beginning and then keep them engaged with new content dropping as the Experience continues on.

This is great if you don't want to overwhelm participants with too many Missions at once. It's also great for long Experiences, as it can help keep participants engaged for the full duration if they know to check for scheduled Mission drops!
